Eric,
I have one (8360) on order so I will let you know what I think of it. I know that the firmware is
somewhat similar to the vp6230 (with extra functions) that I have and that device even though it has
small problems is easy to use. I can say offhand that the pmp400 is supposed to have a better
screen. You are correct that mmv-club.com is the supplier. Most of the problems I have encountered
and have read about are people not knowing how to use the devices. Such as what video codec to use
or how to transfer files over USB.
They do listen to the customers requests that is why they support xvid even though at first they claimed
they could not do it. The moderator Dr. Vosonic seems to be friendly and helpful to requests.

I would order a pmp400 and compare but as you have told me it doesn't arrange in order and
this is one feature that is definitely a must for me to even try out. Alphabetical order is the bare basics
if this is not mastered the device is useless to me since even the first player I owned (archos 6000) could
arrange in this manner. I'm not sure if the manufacturer is telling you they put it this way to find new files
or whatever but that is natural hdd file structure. The player must compensate for this and arrange properly.
The software you have listed to rearrange works well but is kind of slow and tedious.

I do know that Vosonics when a card or external device is plugged in it appears as another drive and has the menu
option of copying just photos, copying the whole disk or browsing the external drive (such as on a computer).
It has options such as a computer as well...you can copy/paste a file onto the hdd. My major request though has
been for them to make a somewhat smaller player. Get rid of the card slots and do usb host with any usb
card reader with the same options in the menus as the card reader gets.

Batteries are replaceable and not really expensive. Drives are also easily replaceable.

.

Cool You must have been visiting my site a lot or you are lucky......I only setup this forum yesterday and still have some things to add. I will update the thread on Bugs to be fixed in PMP400 firmware ver 4 http://hdmp4.com/forum/index.php?topic=2.0 NOW to give you an idea what we have been asking them to fix.

BTW, if you are interested, I can make you to become the board Global Moderator or Moderator for a specific board. I think you have the expertise to be a good moderator.

We have been working on that  Wink since you told me sometime ago, I will e-mail you when we get the new firmware that can arrange in Alphabetical order. ETA is about one month. BTW, would you want an extra battery and/or extra charger to come with your PMP400? I can arrange for that if you want one.

As agreed previously, I will sell you the PMP400 at cost price in return of a comprehensive review written for it. (You can post the review anywhere on the web, as long as we have the URL to find it.)

Good deal, you get them to get alphabetical firmware and I will order one and do a full review on your site no less. ;-). I would say a more comprehensive review than what a major publication will give.  I do check out your site I would say once every two or three weeks.

I would recommend on your forum that the users of your players be able to tell you what they think about the player  :and what they would like to see in either firmware updates or future model abilities. That helps to learn a lot.  Even if it is to tell them that a future update to work as phone cannot be done  Tongue:-).

Changeable batteries....nice. I might like that too :-).

Thanks, this is exactly the reason why I created this forum. To increase interaction between users and to learn what user wants.

Hi there,

I have e-mailed you but no reply. Waiting for your confirmation on the deal we agreed.

Firmware that arrange files in alphabetical order should be out within the next few days.

Cheers

Eric,

Sorry I have been ill and don't have the finances to get right now.
If you remember the USA charges like madness for hospital stays!
I just got back and when I get everything in order I will try to
get one from you.

Peace and Blessings,

CK

If you are still interested, right now is a good time to get a PMP unit.

We are about to get the new PMP firmware to fix a number of things.

Cheers
